The pay range for this position is $155,000 - $200,000 annually. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for bridge construction and railroad safety personnel. Ensure full compliance with FRA, OSHA, and other applicable safety regulations through ongoing training, education, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry changes and advancements. Conduct safety orientation sessions for new hires, refresher training for existing employees, and specialized courses as needed. Lead hands-on training in hazard recognition, emergency response, fall protection, confined space entry, and other critical safety topics. Design and implement train-the-trainer programs to expand safety education capabilities within the organization. Perform risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safety audits as well as investigating incidents and near misses to improve training content and reinforce preventative measures. Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. OSHA Outreach Trainer for the Construction Industry. CPR/First Aid Instructor Certification. Preferred professional certification through BCSP (CSP, CHST, or equivalent) or another accredited safety organization. Extensive knowledge of railroad safety protocols, bridge construction hazards, and FRA regulations. Proven experience in developing and delivering safety training programs in high-risk environments. Strong presentation, communication, and instructional skills, with the ability to engage and educate workers at all levels. Experience working in railroad, bridge construction, or infrastructure projects with a focus on safety training. Pre-Employment Requirements Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review. Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen. Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis. Physical Requirements The physical demands described below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this role. Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs. Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time. Regularly kneel, bend, and squat. Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position. Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position. Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery. Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
