BWXT is currently seeking a Police Officer for its Lynchburg, VA location!

BWXT is seeking a dedicated Police Officer to join our fully certified Police Department in Lynchburg, Virginia . This role is critical in supporting national security by protecting our facility, personnel, and sensitive materials. Candidates must be flexible to work second or third shifts and overtime as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce security protocols and police procedures in compliance with Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) standards.
  • Control access to restricted areas; monitor entry/exit of personnel, packages, and materials.
  • Safeguard classified materials and ensure facility protection.
  • Maintain a high level of vigilance and preparedness to prevent and respond to threats.
  • Perform other assigned security and law enforcement duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Virginia DCJS Law Enforcement Officer certification preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and a U.S. citizen (no dual citizenship).
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must pass a physical agility test , medical exam , psychological evaluation , and drug screening .
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) “Q” clearance .

Pay: $41,000- $64,000

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $41,000 and $64,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
