The Clinical Operations Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing the administrative and operational components of a large-scale systems implementation within the Medical Management division. This role ensures that clinical programs—such as utilization management, care management, and quality management—are transitioned efficiently, on time, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Clinical Operations Project Manager will oversee project planning, documentation, stakeholder coordination, and resource alignment to support successful implementation and integration of new systems and workflows.

Job Description

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and alignment of project documentation, trackers, and implementation plans across clinical operations.
  • Manage a comprehensive inventory of deliverables across testing, training, technical, implementation, and change request workstreams.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders; prepare agendas, document meeting outcomes, and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
  • Monitor project milestones and timelines; proactively identify risks, escalate issues, and collaborate with teams to resolve blockers.
  • Oversee Jira ticket management, including creation, updates, and triaging to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support strategic resource planning and allocation to ensure optimal team performance and project continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments including IT, Compliance, Provider Network Operations, and Claims to ensure seamless integration of systems and workflows.
  • Provide regular project status updates and reports to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Perform other project-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business, Project Management, or a related field; and
  • 4 years of experience in project management, preferably within a health insurance, managed care, or clinical operations environment; or
  • A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, SharePoint, Jira, Asana, or similar).
